Assessment of residual chlorine in soil microbial community using metagenomics

چکیده

Chlorine-containing disinfectants have been widely used around the world for prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic. However, at present, little is known about impact residual chlorine on soil micro-ecological environment. Herein, we treated an experimental soil-plant-microbiome microcosm system by continuous irrigation with a low concentration chlorine-containing water, then analyzed influence microbial community using metagenomics. After 14-d treatment, there were no significant lasting effect diversity composition either in rhizosphere or bulk soil. Although metabolic functions affected slightly it recovered to original status. The abundance several resistance genes changed 7 d 14 d. According our results, residue resulting from daily disinfection may present slight long-term plant growth (shoot length fresh weight) micro-ecology. In general, study assisted environmental risk assessments relating application ofchlorine-containing minimization risks environment during disease control, such as COVID-19.

Relationship between Turbidity and Residual Chlorine and Microbial Quality of Drinking Water

Abstract Background and Objective: Safe drinking water is essential for health and health promotion is dependent on providing safe water. We aimed to determine the relationship between turbidity & residual chlorine and microbial quality of drinking water in Agh ghala. Material and Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, 2079 water samples were collected from water networks of 78 ...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Effect of pH, Chlorine Residual and Turbidity on the Microbial Bio Indicators of Drinking Water Network

Abstract Background and objective: Bioindicators of drinking water are always influenced by physical and chemical factors such as turbidity and chlorine.  Considering the assessment of drinking water quality is based on residual chlorine, E.coli, heterotrophic bacteria and turbidity.  We aimed to evaluate the effect of pH, chlorine residual and turbidity on the microbial ...

Integrated metagenomics and network analysis of soil microbial community of the forest timberline

The forest timberline responds quickly and markedly to climate changes, rendering it a ready indicator. Climate warming has caused an upshift of the timberline worldwide. However, the impact on belowground ecosystem and biogeochemical cycles remain elusive. To understand soil microbial ecology of the timberline, we analyzed microbial communities via 16s rRNA Illumina sequencing, a microarray-ba...
